Our compostable packaging flat pouches leave your food protected by layer upon layer of barrier film because we know that one thin layer is just not enough up against moisture, punctures, and UV light. Our compostable three side sealed bag is suitable for small samples, gifts, granules, single coffee, single sugar for coffee, etc.
Our biodegradable pouches naturally have a lower carbon footprint than fossil fuel alternatives but most materials and manufacturing process still have a carbon footprint. The fully compostable package can be divided into industrial compost packaging bags and household compost packaging bags. You can choose the appropriate sustainable packaging scheme according to your brand and product.

Industrial Compostable Packaging
Industrial compostable packaging is designed to break down under controlled commercial composting conditions.
Depending on the material structure and market, relevant standards may include standards such as EN 13432 or ASTM D6400.
Home-Compostable Packaging
Home composting takes place at lower and less controlled temperatures than industrial composting.
A material described as industrially compostable should therefore not automatically be marketed as home compostable.

Is compostable packaging the same as biodegradable packaging?
Not exactly.
"Biodegradable" is a broad term describing materials that can be broken down by biological processes. "Compostable" packaging is designed to break down under defined composting conditions and should be evaluated against applicable compostability standards.
For B2B packaging specifications, it is better to identify the exact compostability standard and material structure instead of relying only on the term biodegradable.
Are compostable pouches suitable for food packaging?
Yes, selected compostable structures can be used for coffee, tea, snacks, granola, nuts, dried fruit, powders and other dry-food applications.
The correct structure depends on the required oxygen barrier, moisture barrier, grease resistance and shelf life.
Can compostable packaging have a zipper?
Yes.
Selected compostable packaging structures can be supplied with resealable zipper options. The zipper material should be reviewed as part of the complete compostability specification.
Can compostable coffee bags have a degassing valve?
Yes, selected compostable coffee packaging can be developed with one-way degassing valves.

No.
Industrial compostable and home-compostable packaging are different categories. Industrially compostable packaging should not automatically be described as home compostable.

Can compostable packaging provide a high barrier?
High-barrier compostable structures are available for selected food applications, but performance varies according to the laminate.
For products that are highly sensitive to oxygen or moisture, the packaging structure should be tested against the required shelf life rather than selected only according to sustainability claims.
