GLOSS LAMINATE, MATTE LAMINATE, SPOT GLOSS WITH MATTELAMINATED

Small mixed chip bags may look simple, but the packaging has a demanding job to do. It must keep the product crisp, protect delicate chips during transport, seal reliably on the packing line and present a clear sustainability message without compromising shelf life.
BioPack manufactures custom compostable mini mixed chip bags for potato chips, tortilla chips, vegetable crisps, plantain chips, popcorn, puffed snacks and other single-serve dry foods.
Available as premade pouches or printed roll stock, each pack can be customized around your product, filling equipment, target shelf life and brand artwork.
Suitable for:
Organic and natural snack brands
Chip and crisp manufacturers
Private-label food companies
Contract packers and co-manufacturers
Subscription boxes and sampling programs
Hotels, cafés and foodservice businesses
Events, promotions and limited-edition product launches
Need help choosing the right film?
Send us your snack type, fill weight, current bag size and expected order quantity. BioPack will recommend a practical structure for testing.
A compostable logo alone does not make a good snack bag.
Chips and crispy snacks are particularly sensitive to moisture and oxygen. Many products also contain oils, seasonings or natural flavoring ingredients that can affect the required barrier and sealing performance.
That is why BioPack develops each package around the actual snack rather than offering one standard compostable film for every application.
This application-first approach helps reduce the risk of weak seals, loss of crispness, poor machine performance or unsupported environmental claims.
The most common technical concern for compostable chip packaging is moisture protection.
Once moisture enters the package, chips can quickly lose their crisp texture. Oxygen exposure may also contribute to oxidation, especially in products containing natural oils, nuts, seeds or strongly flavored seasonings.
The right packaging specification therefore depends on more than bag thickness.

BioPack focuses on sustainable flexible packaging for organic, natural and better-for-you products.
Our work covers more than printing a green message onto a bag. We help customers review how the material will behave during filling, sealing, transport and storage.
The result should not only look sustainable. It should function as real food packaging.
Are the entire mini mixed chip bags compostable?
They can be made with compostable material structures, but the final claim depends on every component used in the package. The print web, barrier layer, sealant, zipper and any labels or valves should be included in the assessment.
Are compostable and biodegradable chip bags the same?
No. "Biodegradable" is a broad term that does not necessarily state where or how quickly a material breaks down. Compostable packaging should be linked to defined conditions and, where applicable, an appropriate certification.
Can BioPack produce custom bags with several flavor designs?
Yes. Multiple SKUs can be included in one packaging program. Digital printing may be suitable for lower quantities per design, while rotogravure printing is usually considered for larger recurring volumes.
What is the minimum order quantity?
MOQ depends on the film structure, dimensions, printing process and quantity per design. Providing the number of SKUs is important because ten designs of 1,000 bags are not produced in the same way as one design of 10,000 bags.
Can the bags be used on an automatic packaging machine?
Yes. BioPack supplies custom printed roll stock for automatic form-fill-seal equipment. Machine specifications and a trial are recommended before commercial production.
Can you recommend a bag size from the fill weight?
We can suggest an initial size, but chips vary significantly in shape and bulk density. A product sample or existing filled bag gives a more accurate result than weight alone.
Can compostable bags protect chips for 12 months?
This depends on the snack formulation, oil content, material barrier, sealing quality and storage conditions. A 12-month claim shou
ld not be made without testing the selected structure with the actual product.
Can a zipper be added?
A zipper may be added to mini stand-up pouches when the bag size and material structure are suitable. Zippers are less common on small pillow packs produced from roll stock.
Do you supply the chips inside the bags?
No. BioPack manufactures the empty flexible packaging. The food is filled by the brand, snack manufacturer or co-packer.
Can I receive material certificates?
Available certificates, food-contact documentation and technical data depend on the selected material. Documentation requirements should be confirmed before the final structure is approved.
Tell us what you are packing, how much product goes into each bag and how the package will be filled.
BioPack will help you compare the available materials, choose a suitable format and prepare the packaging for sampling or machine testing.
