BioPack manufactures home compostable clear flat bottom gusset bags with paper inserts for cookies, confectionery, dried fruit, nuts, granola, tea, pasta and other dry products that benefit from transparent retail packaging.
The bag combines a high-clarity compostable film with expandable side gussets and a flat, paper-supported base. Once filled, the gussets open to create more internal space, while the paper insert helps the package hold its shape and stand more securely on a shelf.

Unlike a standard clear flat bag, this format gives brands more room for irregular or bulky products without hiding the contents behind a fully printed laminate.

It is a transparent flexible bag made with expandable side panels and a reinforced base.
When the bag is empty, it packs relatively flat. During filling, the side gussets open and the bottom forms a broader rectangular footprint. A paperboard insert sits inside the base to add stiffness and support.
The insert is particularly useful when the contents are lightweight, unevenly shaped or difficult to display in a soft unsupported bag.
BioPack supplies the empty finished bags. Filling, final heat sealing and product shelf-life validation are completed by the brand owner, food manufacturer or appointed co-packer.
Transparent packaging works best when the contents are visually appealing and form part of the product presentation.
Handmade cookies, colorful candy, dried fruit and specialty pasta do not always need heavy front-panel graphics. Allowing the customer to see the actual product can build confidence and make artisan or premium foods feel more tangible.
The paper-supported base also gives the bag a more structured appearance than a conventional cellophane-style flat bag.

The paper insert is a structural part of the package, not simply a decorative card.
Transparent compostable films are generally flexible. Without additional support, the base may fold or distort under unevenly distributed contents.
A correctly sized paper insert creates a firmer surface underneath the product and improves shelf stability.
Soft bags can look untidy when products settle into the corners. The insert helps define the base and gives the finished bag a more consistent profile.
Depending on the bag design, the paper can remain visible through the clear film and become part of the front-of-pack presentation.
A supported bottom can make it easier to open, fill and arrange the bags during manual or semi-automatic packing.
Paper thickness should be selected carefully. A board that is too light may buckle, while an unnecessarily thick insert adds material, weight and cost without improving performance.

Is the Complete Bag Home Compostable?
It can be developed using home-compostable components, but the claim must be based on the full construction—not only the transparent film. Printing, coatings, adhesives, closures and the paper insert should all be included in the review.
Can the Bag Be Heat Sealed?
Yes, selected cellulose-based and compostable clear films are heat sealable. The correct temperature, pressure and dwell time depend on the chosen structure, so sealing trials are recommended before commercial production.
Is the Paper Insert Loose or Fixed?
Both options can be discussed. A loose insert is easier to separate and may simplify material selection. A fixed insert can remain better positioned during filling, but the attachment method must be considered in the complete compostability assessment.
What Products Are Best Suited to This Format?
The format is most commonly considered for cookies, candy, dried fruit, vegetable chips, granola, pasta, tea and other dry goods where clear presentation is important. Wet, hot-filled or highly oxygen-sensitive products generally require a different structure.
Can the Bag Be Custom Printed?
Yes. BioPack can print a small logo, product information, side-gusset artwork or a larger branded layout while retaining a clear product window. The suitable printing method depends on quantity and design complexity.
