GLOSS LAMINATE, MATTE LAMINATE

Custom high-barrier protein pouch packaging for whey protein, plant protein, collagen and powdered supplements — available in recyclable, compostable and paper-based structures.
Protein powder packaging has a simple job that is easy to underestimate: keep moisture out, maintain reliable seals and stay easy to close after repeated use.
BioPack develops protein pouch packaging around the powder itself rather than starting with a standard pouch construction. Fill weight, shelf-life target, filling method, distribution environment and sustainability requirements are reviewed before the material structure is finalized.
For whey protein, vegan protein, collagen, creatine and sports nutrition powders, we offer stand up pouches, flat bottom bags, sachets and rollstock with custom printing and resealable closures.
BioPack manufactures custom protein pouch packaging for whey protein, plant protein, collagen, creatine and powdered supplements. Available options include high-barrier recyclable mono-PE, compostable and paper-based structures in stand up, flat bottom, sachet and rollstock formats. Material selection is based on moisture barrier, seal strength, fill weight, shelf life, filling method and sustainability requirements. Powder-resistant zippers, custom printing and multiple pouch sizes are available.

For dry protein powders, moisture protection is usually the first packaging consideration.
Poor moisture control can affect powder flowability and encourage clumping. At the same time, the pouch must survive filling, sealing, transportation and repeated opening without creating leaks around the zipper or seals.
From a packaging specification point of view, we normally review five areas together:
Moisture barrier
The pouch structure needs to match the product's sensitivity and intended shelf life.
Seal integrity
Large protein packs place more stress on bottom and side seals than lightweight snack packaging.
Zipper performance
Fine powders can collect in conventional zipper tracks, making repeated closure less reliable.
Mechanical strength
A 2 kg protein pouch needs a different construction from a 250 g trial pack.
End-of-life route
Recyclable, compostable and paper-based structures have different performance and disposal characteristics.
This is why BioPack does not recommend choosing a protein pouch based only on film thickness or an "eco-friendly" label.

What is the best packaging for whey protein powder?
A high-barrier resealable pouch is suitable for many whey protein applications. The final material should be selected according to moisture sensitivity, required shelf life, fill weight and distribution conditions.
For brands prioritizing recyclability, high-barrier mono-PE is a good structure to evaluate first.
Can whey protein be packed in recyclable pouches?
Yes. Recyclable PE-based structures can be developed for protein powder applications when their barrier, seal and mechanical performance meet the product requirements.
Does protein powder packaging need aluminum foil?
Not always.
Foil provides very strong barrier protection, but modern high-barrier films can provide a foil-free alternative for many applications. Whether foil can be removed should be decided against the shelf-life requirement rather than sustainability claims alone.
What thickness is suitable for a 1 kg protein pouch?
There is no single correct thickness.
Approximately 100–180 μm is a useful project range for many flexible protein packaging structures, but material type, bag size, gusset design and filled weight all affect the final specification.
Are compostable pouches suitable for protein powder?
They can be suitable for selected applications, but barrier performance should be validated before production. Compostable packaging should not be treated as a direct replacement for every conventional high-barrier laminate.
Can BioPack make 2 kg or 5 kg protein powder pouches?
Yes. For larger fills, we review film strength, seal width, gusset construction and handling requirements before confirming the pouch structure.
Good protein packaging should protect the powder first and reduce unnecessary packaging second.
BioPack supplies custom protein pouch packaging for whey protein, plant-based nutrition, collagen and supplement brands using recyclable, compostable and paper-based material options.
