BioPack manufactures personalized cold seal film for individually wrapped cookies, biscuits, wafers and other single-serve bakery products.
The film seals through pressure rather than heat, making it suitable for high-speed horizontal flow wrapping and products with chocolate, cream, icing or other heat-sensitive ingredients. Each roll is produced according to the customer's pack size, machine configuration, cold seal pattern, artwork and barrier requirements.
Our role is not limited to printing the wrapper. BioPack reviews how the film unwinds, forms, seals and cuts on the customer's line before the commercial specification is confirmed.

Cold seal film has a pressure-sensitive coating applied to selected sealing areas. When the coated surfaces are pressed together, the fin seal and end seals close without heat activation.

Cold seal performance depends on more than adhesive strength. The film stiffness, release surface, coefficient of friction, roll tension, machine pressure and wrapper dimensions all need to work together.
The final structure is selected according to the cookie recipe, distribution conditions, desired appearance and production speed.
BOPP offers good stiffness, print clarity and machinability, making it a practical choice for high-speed individual cookie wrapping.
It is commonly used for standard biscuits, sandwich cookies, wafers and portion-control snacks.
A laminated structure provides additional strength, improved graphic protection and more flexibility when specifying barrier performance.
Reverse printing can place the artwork between the film layers, protecting it from scratching during packing, cartoning and transportation.
PET-based structures may be recommended for heavier cookies, rigid inclusions or applications requiring greater dimensional stability and puncture resistance.
Metallized structures provide stronger protection from light, moisture and oxygen.
They are often considered for chocolate-coated cookies, high-fat biscuits, aroma-sensitive recipes and products with longer shelf-life requirements.
Clear film allows consumers to see the product, while white opaque film provides a clean background for strong branding and nutrition claims.
Transparent windows can also be incorporated into selected structures when product visibility is important.
Mono-PP or mono-PE-compatible options may be evaluated for brands working toward recyclable packaging.
The finished wrapper—including the base film, inks, adhesive, cold seal coating and release treatment—must be reviewed before any recycling claim is made.

Cold seal film bonds through pressure, while heat seal film requires heated sealing jaws. Cold seal is often preferred for chocolate-coated, cream-filled and other heat-sensitive cookies, as well as high-speed flow wrapping lines where short sealing dwell time is important.
Heat seal film may remain a practical option for stable bakery products and machines already optimized for conventional sealing. BioPack can compare both options based on the product, target speed, existing equipment and packaging cost.
A cold seal structure that performs well on one flow wrapper may not run correctly on another.
BioPack considers machine speed, jaw pressure, forming-box dimensions, web path, roll geometry and sensor position before finalizing the film.
The cold seal coating must release cleanly from the opposite side of the roll.
Poor compatibility can cause blocking, difficult unwinding, adhesive transfer and inconsistent seals. We review the coating, release surface and base film together rather than treating them as separate items.
Not every cookie requires a metallized high-barrier laminate.
The recommended structure is based on moisture sensitivity, fat content, aroma retention, shelf life, secondary packaging and distribution conditions. This avoids both underperforming packaging and unnecessary material cost.
A trial roll allows the customer to evaluate web tracking, seal formation, cutting accuracy, production speed and consumer opening before placing a full commercial order.
Approved specifications can include the material structure, thickness, roll width, repeat length, coating pattern, eye mark, winding direction, core size and artwork version.
This is particularly valuable for packaging agents, contract packers and brands managing several SKUs.
Is cold seal film suitable for chocolate-coated cookies?
Yes. Cold seal is commonly considered for products that may be affected by heated sealing jaws. Final performance should be confirmed with the actual cookie and packaging line.
Can the wrapper include a clear window?
Yes. Clear structures and transparent product windows are available, subject to the required barrier and print design.
Does every cookie require metallized film?
No. The required barrier depends on the recipe, shelf life and distribution conditions. Clear or opaque BOPP structures may be sufficient for some products.
Can several flavor designs be ordered together?
Yes. Multi-SKU production can be coordinated, although MOQ and print cost depend on the number of designs and selected printing method.
Can the film run on any flow wrapper?
The machine must be suitable or configured for cold seal packaging. Machine model, pressure, web path and roll specification should be checked before commercial production.
